In short: if you are vegan (or love fireworks-like taste experiences) make a reservation for the menu and go there! The owner is a true magician, besides being very friendly and hospitable. We spent about two hours and felt like in food heaven. Every single of the 10 courses were served on antique or typical plates and tasted perfect. The menu price is absolutely worth it. Thank you!
One of the best meals I’ve had in Japan. The chef, Maeda, is world class. Each of the 10 courses was beautifully presented and delicious. Similar quality to Michelin rated restaurants I have visited elsewhere. Highly recommend.
The most special meal, on a rainy day in Kyoto we cycled over and it was so worth it - we couldn’t believe how good this food is, the chef is magic! The best meal we have had this trip, and one of my favourite meals of all time. My husband cried it was so delicious. Gorgeous pottery used for the dishes too, lots made by the owners friend on Ishigaki.
This was an amazing experience in delicacy and atmosphere and a graceful host. We went with the vegan sushi course menu and our party of 3 loved it. The sushi was very fresh, full of flavors exploding with every vegetable added to it.
Beautiful food in a beautiful building served by a kind chef. Stunning flavors. A meal my wife and I will not soon forget. The tomato sauce incorporated into some of the dishes was in particular outstanding. The smoked carrot sushi may well be the best single bite I have ever had.
