A nice little dedicated gf place on the 3F with a nice view of the illuminated cherry blossoms down below from the counter between the wc’s and the entrance. The food and drink were fantastic but on the more expensive side and they ask you to get at least one drink per person (still totally worth it!) When I visited the whole floor got serviced by only one person so everything took a little bit longer than one might expect but the staff was really friendly and attentive. The pork cutlet came without rice and no free refills of cabbage (which you might be used to from other places) though I would definitely recommend it as it tasted great! The warabimochi on the other hand felt like I ordered 5 portions instead of 1 ? They have an English menu and the staff spoke English too, though they don’t accept credit card per smartphone (e.g. Apple Pay) so you’ll need your good old plastic credit card or cash.
Delicious, elegant, and allergen friendly. I have eaten here twice now, and supremely enjoyed having such tasty, crispy gluten-free pork cutlets. I also ordered the Darjeeling Cooler cocktail the second time- very sweet, but refreshing and delicious. The ambience is both refined and relaxing. Beautiful wood carvings all around. Bonus: there is a book about Pyramids at the end of the bar- certainly an interesting read, if you are so inclined. From what I understand, it was written by a regular. It was fun interacting with the staff who noticed that I had picked it up. Overall, I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Kyoto- particularly if you are gluten-free or vegan.
Was looking for an after hours vegan dinner. Glad I found this place! A little hard to find with the generic name, but it’s on the 2nd floor with a gluten free menu on the street out front. Drink and service were great. Vegan curry was decent. Love the small bar atmosphere inside.
Very prepared for gluten free meals, here we ate the best fried chicken EVER! All the plates tried were completely gluten-free. We did not like the mochi very much...pretty particular and strong taste. A very nice position and very chic as place. Made not only for couples but also family with older kids, like above 7-8y old. The entrance is not easy to find, at the higher floor. Thank you for preparing these goodies for us coeliacs! We are very happy to be able to taste it! ?
Absolutely delicious!! Their entire kitchen is gluten free. We walked in without reservations, but would be better to have one. They fill up fast! The Japanese fried chicken & pork cutlets were delicious. For dessert, we had the Warabi mochi, which I highly recommend!
