AK Ristoro is a stylish restaurant and bistro located in the heart of the Ella area, known for its inviting atmosphere and beautiful setting. The location is truly remarkable, offering both indoor and outdoor seating, surrounded by lush greenery and a relaxed vibe — ideal for both daytime dining and evening drinks. We had the chance to try both local Sri Lankan cuisine and international dishes, and everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, portions generous, and presentation spot-on. It’s clear the kitchen puts thought and care into every plate. The drink menu is also impressive, with a wide selection of beers, cocktails, and mocktails — all crafted with quality ingredients and full of flavor. Whether you’re in the mood for a refreshing tropical mocktail or a well-balanced cocktail, you’ll find something that hits the spot. The staff is another highlight — friendly, welcoming, and always smiling, they make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive and are happy to assist with recommendations or customizations. While the prices are a bit above average for Sri Lanka, they reflect the high quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. We spent around €15–20 per person, which we felt was fair for such an enjoyable dining experience.

Recommended by our tuktuk driver and thankful we heeded his advice. We got a Greek salad, hummus pizza and deviled pork with rice. What stood out was the pizza that had fluffy crust and thin layer with nicely baked smell from the old school oven.

Had our dinner here on our last night at Ella. It is a little tucked away from the center but it was worth the walk. Loved their aesthetics and their cutest menu card. Very friendly and quick table service from Mr. Chama who cared so much to make our dinner time enjoyable. Would definitely go here again !

A Truly Exceptional Dining Experience! Our experience at this restaurant was beyond description — without a doubt, the best place we dined at during our entire stay in Sri Lanka. I would like to sincerely thank the waiter for his honesty. When we inquired whether the food was halal, he openly explained that even the fries and all fried items were cooked in the same oil used for pork and other non-halal meats. We deeply appreciated his transparency and integrity — it speaks volumes about the restaurant’s values. Now, the food itself was simply outstanding. The pizza was authentic Italian style — thin crust, perfectly baked, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pasta was exactly as it should be: flavorful, perfectly cooked, and satisfying. And the salad… it was so fresh and delicious that we couldn’t resist ordering a second one! If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers not only amazing food but also honest, respectful service, this is the place. Highly recommended without hesitation!

This is the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in Asia (and I’ve been travelling for 5 months)! We got the prosciutto pizza and added capers and it was fantastic! Genuinely the best pizza I’ve had in Asia! Ordered prosciutto pizza from elsewhere in Asia and the meat was not really prosciutto. Not the case here. It was delish and authentic! Wasn’t sure about the garden greens at first but really added to the pizza Also ordered the spicy creamy chicken pasta which was good! But the pizza took the cake Will be coming back while in Ella and ordering the pizza again Very yummy white wine as well
