This restaurant is a fantastic find in Ella! The food is excellent, and the service is friendly and welcoming. But what really makes this place stand out is the prices—they are lower than in other restaurants in the center of Ella, making it a great value for money. My favorite dishes were the banana leaf-wrapped curry, which was full of rich flavors, and the fish in curry sauce, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for great food at a better price, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

During my stay in Ella, I ate at the restaurant La Mensa, and I was genuinely impressed. The food was incredibly delicious — especially the Rotti, the banana leaf curry, and the Kottu really stood out. The ingredients were fresh, and it was clear that the team values quality. The service was equally remarkable. One evening, Sri took care of us, and on another evening, unfortunately, I didn’t catch the name of the server. However, both were extremely friendly, attentive, and created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. The prices were fair, especially considering the portion sizes and the quality of the food. I can highly recommend La Mensa to anyone visiting Ella and looking to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. I would come back anytime!

We've been at this restaurant twice during our stay - once for lunch and once for dinner, and both times were fantastic! The food was consistently great, with generous portions. The flavors were tasty and well-balanced, with a good level of spice that can be adjusted to suit your taste The service was also good, with attentive and friendly staff who were quick to respond to our needs. Overall, we'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal with great service. We'll definitely be back! :)

Food and service were good. The restaurant was clean. The waiter who attended was humble. Easily the best restaurant in Sri Lanka I ever visited. Would recommend their passion fruit juice and egg kottu.
