In a statement to the press on Friday (June 17), SPC Group chairman Huh Young-in said that the centre will "manufacture about 100 items such as bread, cake and dessert to supply to Paris Baguette outlets in Southeast Asia countries, including Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia". This will also include supply to other Muslim-majority regions such as the Middle East 😌
The construction of the SPC centre in Johor is set to begin in the third quarter of this year, and the facility is slated to be operational in June 2023. Malaysia will also be having their first Paris Baguette outlet really soon! Berjaya Food Bhd, which operates the Starbucks and Kenny Rogers' Roasters franchises in Malaysia, signed a 50:50 joint venture agreement yesterday with SPC Group-owned Paris Baguette Singapore Ltd to roll out the South Korean bakery in Malaysia.
In a statement to the press by Berjaya Food CEO Datuk Sydney Quays, the first location opening of the popular South Korean bakery will be opened before the end of this year 😱 While the location is not made known to the public, Datuk Quays added they are looking at "some of Klang Valley's larger, more established malls". Berjaya Food also plans to open at least five Paris Baguette outlets a YEAR in Malaysia 🥳
While we are unable to ascertain if the existing Paris Baguette outlets in Singapore and the rest of the countries will be halal-certified, we're still happy to know that more companies out there are tailoring to our needs! So, what will YOU be trying from Paris Baguette? I've always wanted to try their garlic cheese bun 😋
