Is there any halal Filipino food in Singapore?

We agree with this question. More people should try the unique taste of Filipino food. However, the answer is yes!

We found another halal gem in Singapore, thanks to YouTuber Rysha Tv. In her video, she stated that MS Inasal will be the first halal Filipino cuisine eatery in Singapore.

The love for the unique taste of Filipino cuisine is what brings the owner to introduce them to Singaporeans. This eatery opened on 15 May 2021 and continues to gain fans in Singapore.

Not many people know that this eatery is actually owned by a Muslim. MS Inasal is a Filipino cuisine eatery owned by a Chinese-Malay Muslim located at the Hillion Mall's Level 2 food court. You can finally try a taste of Filipino cuisine other than the fast-food chain.

There are several choices of menu you can try, from soup, stew, rice, satay, all the way to desserts. Some of the authentic dishes that you can try here are Inasal Chicken BBQ, Bistek Tagalog, Adobong Manok, and Sinigang Na Hipon.

The dishes' name might sound unfamiliar, but the taste is actually pretty close to our tongue. For example is the Inasal Chicken, a well-known Filipino dish.

The chicken is marinated with herbs and spices such as ginger, garlic, brown sugar, lemongrass, and lemon juice. In some recipes, they use lemon soda soft drink as the marinating liquid. The chicken is then grilled and basted with more seasoning until perfectly cooked.

Another dish that you can try is the Bistek Tagalog with rice. This beef stew looks similar to Japanese beef yakiniku. However, when you bite it, you can taste that it's a completely different dish.

Not only savory and slightly sweet, but you can also taste a kick of tanginess from the sauce. This sour touch comes from the calamansi that is used to marinate the beef.

Price-wise, MS Inasal dishes range from SGD 1 (for a piece of satay) to SGD 8 (the meat value package). Most of the menu includes white rice in it so it is definitely fulfilling.

A meal wouldn't be complete without a dessert and there is always room for it. To make you Filipino cuisine feast complete, try one of the desserts that this eatery has.

MS Inasal has some sweet dishes you can try to cleanse your palate, but the owner recommends Leche Flan (the one on the right). You might not be seeing it on the menu list, but it's there at the top of their counter.

This pudding-like dessert is made of cream and milk with caramel sauce at the bottom of the bowl. Dig in and feel it melt in your mouth with a burst of the sweet and slightly bitter taste from the sauce. A perfect way to end a meal.

MS Inasal is also available for delivery through Grab and Food Panda.
