Missus, New Muslim-Owned Cafe In Jalan Besar

It's hard to miss the store: this bohemian-themed store, which opened in mid-May 2022, stands in stark contrast with others with its pink hues, almost as if you've entered a vintage set of one of Wes Anderson's films ? According to their Instagram, the interior design was inspired by the owners' travel experiences to Australian cafes, so you'll be promised delicious grilled cheese, speciality desserts and bakes any time of the day in a laid-back and cozy ambiance ?

One of the interior features of the cafe is the rounded Art-Deco curves of the service and delivery counters, which adds on a classic yet contemporary touch to the cafe (also perfect to make your IG feed look stunning ?)

A gorgeous cafe like this packs on an amazing menu. For starters, you can't leave without trying their Missus Melt. Their signature 4 cheese blend (which they cheekily mentioned that there might be even MORE types of cheese involved, and we're not complaining) and truffle pate are heated between two slices of bread cut into triangles until it's grilled to perfection. You definitely must do the cheese pull shot; didn't we tell you'll be drooling ? Served with a side of roasted garlic tomato soup and chilli tapioca chips, it's definitely a meal made to savour as slowly as you can! The owners suggest you use your hands to enjoy this dish and we agree because we know it's tasty when it gets messy ?

It's only a full meal if you've had dessert, and looking at their menu, you'll be spoiled for choice! But if you need a little help deciding which one to try, they've suggested one of their star players: Chocolate Feuilletine Exotic Mousse Tart. Coconut, mango, banana and passion fruit mousse is laid over a homemade chocolate feuilletine tart. Every component in their desserts is made from scratch, so you'll be promised quality! It seems too pretty to be eaten, but it's most importantly super flavourful on your palate ?

Bread lovers will truly appreciate their range of toast, in particularly, the Cinnamon FrenchToast. It's fluffy and eggy, the two things we love about French toast, and comes with a side of homemade coffee caramel cream & salted coffee nut crumbs. The taste? Well, it's better if you head down there and try it for yourself! ?

Some other noteworthy dishes you have to try is their Baked Ketaifi Cheese, the cafe’s take on kunefe, homemade bakes such as Coffee Butter Bun and other decadent options such as the Date Pudding with Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream  and tropical fruit-flavoured Exotic Tart ?

Missus is currently in its soft launch phase, with an official launch date set for 1 June 2022, and their menu is subject to changes, so stay tuned to their socials for more updates! Time to bring your friends, or your cafe-hopping gang, or your Missus ?, to Missus this weekend! ?
