[Updated 20 Aug 2021: We've just received news from one of our readers that several spots around the floating platform at Marina Bay will be closed to visitors from 11AM to 11.59PM to prevent overcrowding. This includes the Promontory @ Marina Bay and Marina Barrage which was previously mentioned in this article. We've provided alternative spots to watch the fireworks. Do check NDPeeps Facebook post for more information.]

The delayed National Day celebrations are just around the corner! While there may not be news of celebration highlights or fireworks for NDP 2021 just yet, we can't deny that we're all excited for the possibility of it? Watching the Singapore NDP fireworks is a beloved Singaporean pastime that none of us wants to miss out on. So if you'd like to take a chance and head on out to possibly catch some fireworks, here are 4 places in Singapore you might just be able to catch some fireworks this 21st August ?

Note: As the public is discouraged from crowding around Marina Bay, do ensure that you practise safe distancing while being out catching the fireworks

Places You May Catch The 2021 Fireworks

1. Along Singapore River

Take a stroll along the Singapore River or chill by the river as you enjoy the view of Singapore's riverfront and watch the fireworks light up Singapore's night sky. Singapore River might be one of the best places to catch the NDP fireworks on the 21st!

Alternatively, you could book a hotel with a view to watch the fireworks!

2. Marina Square Rooftop At Level 2

Marina Square's Rooftop is famous for its photo-worthy maze, but did you know that it might just be one of the best places to catch Singapore's National Day fireworks? Head on to level two of Marina Square to feast your eyes on Singapore's proud tradition as it illuminates the sky.

3. Gardens by the Bay

At Gardens by the Bay, the view may not be as splendid as near Marina Bay Sands or the Marina Barrage but there's still a chance that you might get a glimpse of the fireworks as you stroll by Marina Bay near the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. You might also be able to catch a snippet of the fireworks at OCBC Skyway too!

4. Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant

Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant is the newest picnic spot near Marina Bay that will remind you of Marina Barrage! Although it's a little further from where the fireworks will go off, you can still get a panoramic view of the fireworks against the backdrop of Marina Bay Sands.

Address: 1 Marina East Drive, Singapore 029996

Opening hours: Daily, 8AM-9PM (it might be temporarily closed if the space is overcrowded)

5. Tanjong Rhu and Stadium Riverside Walk (near Kallang Wave Mall)

Tanjong Rhu and Stadium Riverside Walk (near Kallang Wave Mall) won't give you the full view of the fireworks but they are good alternatives to catch some fireworks. From these spots, you'll only be able to see the fireworks from afar but it'll be a great atmosphere to soak in with your loved ones!

Though most areas near the floating platform are cordoned off, you can still make the best of the National Day and catch the fireworks. Who knows, you may be in for a spectacular surprise! Do remember though, that if you do choose to scope out these areas, that you need to maintain social distancing and be respectful of any enhanced security that may be in the area!
