Guide To Changi Airport Terminal 4: Airlines Operators, Halal Food, Attractions And More

It’s finally here! The long-awaited fourth terminal, Changi Airport Terminal 4 has reopened. ? With the resurgence of travellers and a higher demand for air travel these past few months, the terminal is now fully operational with certain airlines moving over to be handled by them. We’ve come up with a guide to Changi Airport T4, complete with airline counters, halal food, retail outlets and much more that you can expect when you visit! Which airlines have moved to T4? From 13th September onwards, 16 airlines will move progressively to Terminal 4, as shown in the table below

T4 airline operations

Since T4's temporary shutdown in May 2020, Bamboo Airways and HK Express began operating at Changi, becoming new additions to the list of former T4 operators that are all returning to the terminal!? T4’s reopening will help ease the pressure off of T1, which is known to be very busy during the peak travel period. While not much information is known at the time of writing, there are some familiar halal eateries that you’ll recognise among the bunch!

1. Andes by Aston

This halal-certified Western eatery is also open at T4’s Departure Hall! After a long flight (or even perhaps for a post-flight meal), you’ll want to indulge in hearty and flavourful dishes. ? It’s great for a pick-me-up especially if you’re someone who gets hangry really easily when travelling! Not to mention, the airport vibes are just amazing when you’re dining out regardless of if you’re alone or with company. ?The outlet also closes pretty late (11PM) so you can definitely get some grub in time to catch that midnight flight!

2. Ma Mum

For local breakfast foods like soft kaya buns, half boiled eggs and hot kopi that hits the spot, Ma Mum is where you need to be. This halal-certified eatery has all the local delights you could think of. And it opens early too! So you can grab some of your breakfast faves before entering the boarding gates.

3. Cheers

When travelling, convenience stores can become the Michelin-star restaurant you’ve always dreamed of. If you really don’t have time a proper meal or freshly baked bread, you could always grab some snacks from Cheers once you’ve arrived in the terminal! Located at the Arrival Hall, whether you’re the one coming home from a trip, or the person picking them up, you’ll have something to munch on that’s quick and light. 4. Heavenly Wang

Slices of brown, toasty bread for that extra crisp, a generous spread of their signature Kaya and eggs boiled to just the right level of cooking! Sounds heavenly? Accompany your ideal breakfast with a cup of roasted, aromatic coffee or sweet-smelling brewing milk tea. The choice is yours. A popular hot favourite among patrons is the Mee Siam! Add the sweet-sour tanginess of the gravy to a plate of tau pok, bean sprouts and thinly slit noodles, and it'll be your go-to place for good food and great conversations.

5. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

This popular cafe will be the perfect way for you to chill between fun activities. With plenty of energising coffee and tea menu options, refreshing cold drinks, and mouth-watering pastries and cakes, Coffee Bean might just be the surprising highlight of your day!

Is there a lounge at T4?

Yes, there are two lounges at T4! One of which is called the Blossom Lounge, and it boasts a huge area with a seating capacity for 280 guests. ? It’s located on the mezzanine level above immigration and security, following the main departures concourse! There’s a shower facility inside the lounge that allows travellers to take a 20-minute shower - perfect for transit passengers!

There’s also the Cathay Pacific Lounge.

Attractions to visit

1. Chandelier

If you like interactive installations, wait till you see Chandelier at T4. With its 16-meter height, the Chandelier is the ideal place for both young and young-at-heart to have some fun during their visit! ?There’s a red netting and spiral-like steps leading up to the top of the Chandelier. Kids can have fun navigating up and down the spiral slopes however, participants must be at least 1.1m tall, be wearing shoes at all times and are required to empty their pockets and remove loose items.

2. Heritage Zone

This zone houses familiar local and traditional brands inspired by Peranakan shophouses nestled around Singapore. Heritage-themed façades and furnishings evoke a sense of nostalgia. ? A six-minute performance is screened on the central façade of the shophouse, allowing visitors to experience life in Singapore in the 1930s. The story of Peranakan Love Story takes place between two passionate musicians living next door and is set to the melodious Bunga Sayang - ideal for history junkies!

3. Steel In Bloom

The exhibition Steel in Bloom explores the interaction of humans with nature. As well as a koi pond, the garden features an intricately crafted steel centrepiece adorned with botanical motifs. ?This metallic structure juxtaposed with the ethereal blooming flora inspired by its design. This display is perfect for photographs and selfies, complemented by bright, multi-coloured lights! Location: Transit, Level 2

4. Entertainment Corner

If you’re kids just can’t sit still (or are iPad kids ?), you must visit the Entertainment Corner, where they can play the XBox Kinect. With this sports-gaming experience, you move your body and use your voice to control the game! Take on friends at tennis, bowling, soccer, wake racing, target shooting, and climbing.
