Step back in time at one of the newest museums here in the heart of the Civic District! If you are into colonial architecture, this is one of the best spots to visit to have a mini photoshoot! Refurbished from the former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings, your shots here will absolutely exude some sleek vibes.

Thanks to the towering pillars, shadowed arches and sleek architecture, you can grab plenty of amazing shots from different angles. The top floors of the museum also provide plenty of opportunities for an exquisite snapshot. This building seamlessly mixes modern designs with neo-classical style, making it the next new haven for photography buffs.

It is a must-go for a lovely picnic, date, or just to read a good book. Venture further away and you’ll discover other hidden spots around that’s a real sight to behold for some good photos!

If you are willing to spend a little to capture a stunning shot, consider visiting the National Orchid Garden which sits within the botanic garden. It is simply impossible to find a location here that isn’t beautiful enough! For a mere $5 entry, you can snap that Insta-worthy photo at quaint walkways topped with overhead arches and Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim.

3. Marina Square Rooftop Maze

Sit up for this one, city ‘grammers! No, this is not a scene from Maze Runner, rather it is the rooftop of your typical shopping mall! This location is unlike anywhere else in the country. A combination of the striking white walls and concrete floor makes it a pretty neat effect when the photo is snapped from above.

Technically an emergency fire escape route, the walls look all the same so do take your time to wander around the maze. But just don’t ask us how to exit the maze!

How to get here: Exit via the stairwell at Marina Square Mall, Level 3 in front of Beyond Pancakes for the model. For the photographer exit via the door leading to the toilets and go to the door on your right which leads to a stairwell.

4. Old Hill Street Police Station

Rainbow-coloured trends have always been taken over social media by storm, from bagels to drinks and even buildings! A dream to photograph, the Old Hill Street Police Station was gazetted as a national monument. This massive neo-classical style building is near impossible to miss! Strike your best pose in front of its 927 vibrant rainbow-coloured window shutter; the best time would be early in the morning when the sunlight is softer – and with less traffic on the roads.

5. Tan Teng Niah’s house in Little India

Home to some of the most colourful streets around, this cultural spot has plenty of photo spots that will keep your camera out. This unique landmark displays European and South Chinese architecture with striking, fun colours, making it a refreshing change from the usual skyscrapers around!

Constructed in 1900s, Tan Teng Niah’s former house is the last remaining surviving Chinese villa in the vicinity. In 2018, it is a unique background for a photo on your Instagram feed and also an intriguing history to learn about. While you’re here, don’t forget to satisfy your tummy with some delectable cuisine along the streets of Little India!

6. Orchard Library

With a collection size of 100,000 titles and unique designated display areas, the library here certainly spoils its visitors. It is not all about the range of books, it is also the sleek interior design and rustic concept here! There’s even a sliding ladder for you to climb and search for a book– oh I mean take a good snapshot.
