We kick this list off with a hidden gem located a short drive from Singapore’s business district. 786 Char Kway Teow is owned by a friendly Chinese-Muslim, who puts his passion for cooking into every plate of his yummy Char Kway Teow (From SGD 3).
Note that queues can get remarkably long during peak hours, but it is worth the wait as a plate of this delicious Char Kway Teow, will make you come back for seconds. You can fully customise your plate of Char Kway Teow by asking for additional cockles or by making it spicier.

Be spoilt for choice at this local Zi Char (home-cooked meals) restaurant located in West Coast Plaza. Getting here, however, wouldn’t be as easy as there are no MRT stations nearby. The best option to get here is by taking bus service 201 from Clementi MRT Station, which lies along the East-West Line.
The conveniently named West Co’z Café serves up a variety of dishes ranging from local curry dishes to stir-fried vegetables, all of which go well with a plate of hot, fragrant rice. Their signature (and a must-try) is their Curry Fish Head (SGD 20). The fish is meaty and the curry is perfectly seasoned and gives the right amount of spicy kick.
