1. Explore Tangkuban Perahu Volcano

Indonesia's situated on the Ring of Fire, meaning there are a ton of volcanoes that call this country home! One of the most famous (and spectacular) volcanoes you can visit is Tangkuban Perahu Volcano. This is an active volcano that has hot springs that you can visit up close. Grab some of those freshly-boiled volcano eggs as a snack while you tour the area, or try out coffee from the nearby Cikole Coffee Plantation (Kopi Luwak) to wake you up! There are many photo opportunities here too so snag some photos while you walk through this area. There are some shops around selling goodies such as sulfur and lava rocks that pertain to traditional medicine usage. They're interesting souvenirs to take home from Bandung!

If you're interested in visiting, you can even book a tour to the area that will bring you to do some strawberry pickings too! You can check them out here.

P.S: If you're looking for a getaway from the bustling city, here are some accommodations that you should book!

2. Have fun with your family at Dago Dreampark

At Dago Dreampark, the adventurous and less adventurous can have a great time running around the park. You can ride a bicycle on the many forest trails or even on a zipline (safely, of course!). You can take part in paintball with a huge arena as you battle it out to be the best team. If you want a gorgeous view of the sunrise or sunset, Gunung Putri Lembang is your go-to! Situated in Lembang (just a few miles away from the capital), the area boasts a spectacular variety of nature-filled activities that you can do! You can do the hike on your own (with proper preparation!) or hire a guide to help you out on the trail. The surrounding areas also boasts quite a lot of interesting activities. There is an Orchid Forest where wild orchids bloom. Or you can drop by the nearby Cikole Coffee Plantation to try out their famous Kopi Luwak.

4. Run around in Kota Mini Lembang with your kids

Kota Mini Lembang is an adorable, quaint mini town that mimics the European architecture that you can find in mainly the Netherlands. It's a great place for photo opportunities as you can even dress up in Holland-inspired frocks and gowns as you stroll through the park. However, that's not all! There are a ton of fun activities for kids that are hands-on and would be a core memory for them!

There are a bunch of 'careers' that your kid can take part in. For example, learn how to be a chef as they learn how to cook, or be a firefighter where you fight 'simulated' fires in an actual building or ride around on a mini firetruck. You can try and open your own beauty parlor where you play around with makeup and feel fabulous.

Do note that the entrance to Kota Mini Lembang needs an additional ticket. You'll be paying to enter the Floating Market Lembang (around $2) + Kota Mini Lembang

White Crater or Kawah Putih as it is known in Indonesia

Located just 44km south of the center of Bandung, you'll be taking a 2-hour ride to the base of the volcano before taking the shuttle buses (Ontang Anting) that will take you up there! This bright orange minibus comes every 5 minutes so fret not! It costs around IDR 20,000 - 50,000 for a trip up! Visiting Kawah Putih is like stepping into a new dimension, almost fairytale-like which will blow you and your traveling buddies away! Since you're in the area, you can drive up 30 minutes more t Rancabali to take part in strawberry-picking, frolick through tea plantations, and also pet rabbits!

Bandung is known for its fabrics, with more than half of Indonesia's textile production situated in this city! With that comes an abundance of factory outlets which all carry a variety of affordable branded goods.

The aesthetics of the area also mimic the shops that you see in the UK or even Paris itself. In the mall itself there is a small petting zoo on the rooftop too for your kids while you enjoy your shopping trip!

There's also the Trans Studio Mall which has been dubbed the one-stop shop for all things you need. There are indoor playgrounds and activities for kids, branded goods as well and factory outlets too.

Masjid Apung on the water

Visit this gorgeous mosque that is situated on the water itself for your prayers! Finishing its construction on 30 December 2022, the mosque was built in the shape of a fish's fin where the roof is covered by more than 6,000 pieces of glass. The naturally lit mosque has air-conditioned pillars and has two levels, where the second level is dedicated to women. The main floor can hold up to 20 000 men whereas the second floor can accommodate 3 000 women. In the coming years, more will be added such as a boat ride where you can view the majestic mosque from the water. There will also be a foodcourt for you to grab a bite before or after prayers.
