Looking for something different to buka puasa with your loved ones? Then you might want to check out Yakiniku Kuro, a brand new smokeless and contemporary Japanese grilling eatery that offers varieties of prime meats and freshly sliced Angus Beef and Japanese Wagyu.

If you are looking for a modern twist to your Yakiniku experience, Located at 1 Utama Shopping Centre and IOI City Mall, Yakiniku Kuro combines the best part of traditional Yakiniku and mixes it together with a stylish and cosy ambience. Let's explore some of the highlights of Yakiniku Kuro’s menu, service and atmosphere ?

Spacious with contemporary ambience

We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch (this was pre-Ramadan!) at the newly-opened outlet in IOI City Mall Putrajaya. Located on the third floor near the GSC Cinemas, the restaurant has a welcoming air. We loved how spacious it is and the modern contemporary vibe it has. One of the winning aspects of Yakiniku Kuro is the individual grilling station, which means it's perfect for solo diners! ? They also use smokeless BBQ so you won't be smelling like smoke after your meal. Win-win! With that said, you can order individual menus (instead of sharing) so you can get what you want.

What we tried

We tried three of their signature dishes: Kuro Trio, Shin Rosu, and Sankaku Bara Australian Wagyu. We ordered set meals that come with a bowl of rice, kimchi and miso soup which are perfect for a lunch or dinner meal. The restaurant is perfect if you're a meat lover and won't be disappointed with the selection here!

This dish is perfect if you can't make your mind up about which cut to order! The Kuro Trio (set meal: RM52.90, ala carte: RM 47.90) consists of a beef short plate, chuck and skirt. You can order without marinating or with marinating. We ordered ours with marinate. The beef slices are cut thinly and you can grill for about one to two minutes according to your doneness liking. We loved how juicy the beef was and having three different types of cuts is certainly a good choice! ?

Next, we tried the Shin Rosu (set meal: RM74.90, ala carte: RM69.90), a striploin cut. This is perfect if you prefer a flavoursome steak with guaranteed tenderness. It has the perfect balance of flavour and tenderness that are perfect for grilling! ?

You can't visit leave without trying the Sankaku Bara Australian Wagyu (RM139.90 for 100g)! The premium cut is everyone's favourite dish and it melts in your mouth. We recommend grilling it medium rare to enjoy the full flavour that bursts with each bite ?

Overall, we loved how simple the dishes are so that you can truly taste the flavour and tenderness of the beef. The individual-style grilling stations are also a plus as you can guarantee to finish off your meal without any waste. AND you can enjoy yakiniku on your own too! If you love beef and the fuss-free way of enjoying a meal, we highly recommend Yakinku Kuro!
