If you’re a fan of halal cafe hopping in Singapore you might remember when (working title) first opened its doors in 2013 as one of the first halal brunch spots in the country! The menu has changed over the years to focus on mouth-watering halal burgers, but now you’re in for a special treat because (working title) is bringing back their halal brunch and it’s better than ever! Their special Grunge Brunch is available from 9AM-3PM daily, and consists of wholesome, unpretentious dishes that are the perfect way to start your day. ?

P.S. Book your table online before the slots are all taken up! ? (working title) is open during Public Holidays so it looks like your long weekend and New Year’s Eve plans are all settled!

One dish on the Grunge Brunch menu that’s a must-try is the Benny Benassi ($21.30) which pairs soft, perfectly poached eggs with coffee-braised beef cheeks and toasted sourdough bread. The beef cheeks are braised overnight for 12 hours at 75 degrees in coffee, tenderising the meat so that it’s juicy, tender, and oh so satisfying to sink your teeth into. ? After that the coffee even is reduced into a thick gravy so every bite will be full of a rich, smoky flavour!

Fans of (working title)’s coffee can also look forward to an elevated coffee experience from now on. The cafe works with a local coffee roaster to obtain their beans and their signature coffee has both nutty and fruity accents to compliment their hearty dishes. Keep your taste buds on alert for notes of hazelnut, orange, peanut butter, and strawberry when you take a sip! ☕️ (working title) believes that coffee is key to starting your day right and that the perfect pick-me-up can help set your tone for the rest of the day. Even their cold brew coffee is a luxurious single-origin Ethiopian blend that’s made in-house by their resident barista! ?

Another dish that’s not for the faint-hearted is the Big Breakfast ($23.80).It comes with eggs done your way (poached, sunny, or scrambled!), toasted sourdough bread, lamb koftas, grilled portobello mushrooms, braised beans, roasted tomatoes, tater tots, arugula, and a generous drizzle of roasted sesame dressing! Perfect for sharing if your appetite isn’t that huge in the morning - or for a challenge if you think you can handle this massive platter. ?

Those who prefer savoury options for brunch will love the Not Your Regular Beans On Toast ($19.60) with braised spicy pinto beans, creamy scrambled eggs, house nachos, and a homeground beef patty all served on a toasted brioche bun! The pinto beans are made with a secret recipe containing chipotle and jalapeno peppers (borrowed from Mexican taqueria Afterwit Bar de Burrito across the road!), and there’s a dab of butter mixed into the scrambled eggs to get them to a smooth and creamy consistency. ? Even the beef patty is made in-house using 4 cuts - chuck, brisket, ribeye, and short ribs - to ensure a wholesome flavour in every bite!

Now that (working title)’s Grunge Brunch has returned, you can look forward to even more brunch options when you’re in the Arab Street or Bugis area. What’re you waiting for - reserve your table now and treat yourself to something new!
