The Mid-Autumn Festival is happening on 21 September 2021! Celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asian/Southeast Asian communities, the festival is about family reunions and thanksgiving. Besides plenty of options for halal mooncakes in Singapore, many attractions are also having special lantern displays and installations to mark Mid-Autumn Festival. 1. Mid-Autumn Festival 2021, Gardens by the Bay

There's never a bad time to visit Gardens by the Bay and this time around, you can soak in the atmosphere of the stunning lights as part of the 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival (15 Sep - 3 Oct 2021). Look out for the "Sky Lanterns" which are a set of sky lanterns "floating" up a Supertree. Don't miss out on the "Rabbits Forest" too which are a series of adorable rabbit lanterns! Whether you're paying for admission to the Flower Dome or just hanging around at the outdoor gardens, you'll get to revel in the festivities. What's more, kids get free entry to the Flower Dome till 3 Oct!

2. Mid-Autumn Festival Light-up, Jurong Lake Gardens

With its sprawling lake, beautiful paths and landscapes, Jurong Lake Gardens looks stunning in the day but during this period, it is gorgeous at night too. From 17 September to 3 October, various sections of the garden will be lit up between 7PM to 11PM daily. Several trees will be lit up so you can enjoy a peaceful walk through the gardens.

3. Mid-Autumn Festival 2021 Street Light-Up, Chinatown

Besides Chinese New Year, Chinatown will also be adorned in a festive light-up during Mid-Autumn Festival! This year, around 880 metres of Chinatown's streets are lit up with 900 lanterns. Look forward to various patterns of lanterns like mooncakes, jade rabbits and snow skin mooncakes. Don't miss out on the highlight of the light-up opposite Chinatown Point, a 12m-tall centrepiece of Chang E, the Chinese goddess of the moon, as well as an IG-worthy lantern alley outside Chinatown Point.

4. Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival, Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall

If you're looking for somewhere more peaceful to enjoy the festivities, check out the Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall in Balestier. This year, admire an outdoor installation of 4 large lanterns produced by Thai artist Ngaew Ngaew. The lanterns are conceptualised based on the artist's characters and a special character called the Moon Rabbit - definitely an adorable treat!

5. Mid-Autumn Festival at Rainforest Lumina, Singapore Zoo

If you're a night owl, you'd enjoy your time after dark at the Rainforest Lumina at the Singapore Zoo. The wild side of the zoo gets lit up every night for a multimedia walk to experience with your loved ones. And during this period, Rainforest Lumina has a line-up of mid-autumn festive treats and activities. There are also special installations that you can look forward to!

6. Pang Sua Pond Mid-Autumn Light-Up

If you're staying in the Bukit Panjang area, you might be familiar with the Pang Sua Pond as a workout spot. Now, the area is being lit up with festive themed lighting from 7PM to 10PM daily during this period. Look forward to rainbow-coloured fairy lights and an IG-worthy lantern tunnel! Pang Sua Pond is also known as Singapore's second-largest manmade floating wetland and hence, the mid-autumn light decorations make the area look even prettier.
