There’s no shortage of fun events happening in Singapore no matter the season! For those of us who are familiar with the event scene in the city, we’d know that Chingay is one of the first few large-scale festivities that takes place early in the year. ? In the Hokkien dialect, Chingay can be translated as 妆艺 (Zhuangzi), which means costume and masquerade. The Chingay Parade began in 1973 as a street parade celebrating the Chinese New Year but has since evolved to showcase Singapore’s multicultural and racial scene! ? If you’re curious to see what Chingay Parade 2023 has in store, here’s what you can look forward to!
