Top 5 Halal Desserts in London To Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

Have Halal Will Travel •  Dec 14, 2015

Guest post by My Big Fat Halal Blog In this cold and wet London weather, the only things that truly get me going are treats that serve my sweet tooth! We know that many of you are the same, and so with that in mind, A and I have compiled what we feel are London’s best (Halal) dessert and afternoon tea offerings.
1. Novikov
Soft, light and fluffy chocolate cake that oozes with flowing chocolate sauce. You have to wait about 15-20 minutes for this so they can make it fresh. It’s worth the wait… trust me! I think this might just be one of my favourite desserts ever and no other fondant that I’ve previously had can compete with this one.

The restaurant also offers many other halal dishes which are marked on their menu.
2. Wafflemeister
Anywhere that makes you feel the need to get off your train and get an impromptu waffle must be special. I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve hopped off at Bond St. just for a Nutella or milk chocolate covered waffle. Served fresh and warm, Wafflemeister is the ideal fuel for any shopping trips you have in the West End.

3. Amorino
It’s never too cold for ice cream right? As if using delicious ingredients to make organic hand-made ice cream wasn’t enough, at Amorino, scoops of ice cream are squidged together to make your cone look like a flower. There are countless amazing flavours on offer, so there’s bound to be one that suits your palate. My favourite flavours are speculoos (amaaazing!), tiramisu, salted caramel and chocolate.

4. BB Bakery
Finding afternoon tea in London is easy! But finding one that is Halal, with pretty crockery and a lovely venue is hard to find, so you can imagine my face when I discovered Covent Garden’s BB Bakery. Finger-sandwiches, cakes and tartés are beautifully presented so you can enjoy your tea while snapping away pictures for Instagram. They also offer halal afternoon tea on a routemaster bus, which is great for tourists!

If you would really like to treat yourself (or your better half), The Dorchester, one of London’s grandest hotels, offers a memorable afternoon tea experience that is hard to match. They require at least 24 hours notice, but can provide Halal chicken, beef and lamb.
