We Tried the $148 Wagyu Tomahawk Steak at Tomahawk King – Here’s Why It’s Worth Every Penny

A fresh rebrand and delicious menu additions, Tomahawk King Steakhouse and Grill is the perfect choice for hearty portions and bold flavours. I had the pleasure of trying their newly-debuted King’s Chicken Fingers (inspired by Raising Cane’s) and let me tell you - THIS was the standout for me. Think Raising Cane’s but halal. Everyone can now enjoy without the FOMO!

The King’s Chicken Combo ($19) is a delectable plate of juicy, buttermilk chicken thigh fillets paired with crinkle-cut fries, buttery sesame toast and gooey mozzarella dippers. They’ve both ranch and their own King’s Dip sauce for you to try. While the ranch is a classic, the King’s dip was a winner for me - it just made for a compatible pair with the chicken. If the small dips are not enough, you can always order 500ml of the King’s Dip for just $5!

Next, my sister and I took on the Signature Wagyu Tomahawk Steak ($148) and boy, it was MASSIVE! Served with brown and mushroom cream sauces alongside garlic herb butter, the steak was extremely tender, it fell easily off the bone. Each bite was soft and flavours were enhanced when eaten with the sauces. This steak reminded me of my love for beef. We couldn’t finish this so we got it in takeouts and had it for lunch the next day. It was still very soft and tender!

The A5 Rosu Signature Set ($268) is every meat lover’s dream. This came with a 300g of thick-cut A5 Rosu, 100g of thin-cut Rosu Usugirl, and 100g Australian Ribeye Yakiniku. To give you a little surf with all that turf, fresh tiger prawns and an assorted vegetable platter are included too.

As I was grilling, I couldn’t help but admire the marbling on the A5 - it was truly a sight to behold! Although each cut had its unique taste, each bite was tender, juicy and flavourful. The sweetness from the prawns not only created an interplay of flavours, it balanced the rich flavours of the meat so it wouldn’t come off too heavy.

We wrapped things up with the Ondeh Ondeh Indulgence ($16). Served with salted peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, the ondeh ondeh cake was moist and embodies the flavours of what ondeh ondeh should be. It was not overly sweet nor overwhelming. I ended my meal on a good note!
