Craving Italian food but can't afford to go to Italy? Good news! Just head over to Luciano's KL at Wisma Central (near KLCC), for a bite of Italian street food! This humble restaurant is helmed by an Italian-Malay Muslim couple so you know it's as authentic as you can get! So, what should you order when you visit? Let's dive in!
Walking in, you'll be welcomed with the tantalising aroma of Italian bread, spices and coffee. The European cafe-style restaurant is spacious and airy, with an open kitchen where you can see the prep area. Here, you'll see the Sardinian chef Kristian Luciano Spera prep his famous pizzas, pasta and ciabatta.
You should order the pizza, of course! Luciano's offers classic slice pizza such as Napoli Slice (RM20.50) with a tomato-based sauce, salty anchovies, capers and black olives while the Parmigiana Fritta (RM24) had an appetising topping of eggplant and ricotta. For meat lovers, we recommend the Pepperoni Gourmet Slice (RM22.50). Despite being a cured beef sausage, it was still a flavour-packed slice, and chilli flakes and chilli oil are both placed on the table for adding to your liking.
The freshly baked ciabatta is also a must-try! At only RM5 each, it's certainly a crowd's favourite. They'll heat it up and slice it for you before serving. Then, you can dip it in olive oil and balsamic vinegar... mmm, super yummy!
