What a stunning scenery and lookout. The park has plenty of playground area and biking trails. The zoo is just next to the lake. The elephant enclosure is not covered so today I took sneak peek at them while getting them trained. ....I highly recommend it and will go back again...

Western Springs Park is a peaceful oasis in Auckland, perfect for nature lovers and families alike. The park is beautifully maintained, with lush greenery, serene lakes, and plenty of open spaces to relax or have a picnic. The walking trails are easy to navigate and offer picturesque views of the water and surrounding wildlife. One of the highlights is the abundance of birdlife—ducks, swans, and even pukekos roam freely, adding a unique charm to the park. It’s also a great spot for kids, who love feeding the ducks and running around in the wide-open areas.

Great fun for the whole family. Cash is king here, so bring lots of it for food and drinks, as well as parking. Great outing for both kids and parents.

The walk here through Western Springs to get here is magical, then you have this glorious park. The art is beautiful (giant yellow geckos) and the equipment is sturdy and really well thought out. Like, the swings face each other, making it way more thrilling and interesting for the kids and the nest swing rotates and can fly in a huge circle, the slide is like 3 stories high. But it's all well spaced, enclosed where it needs to be, so it's safe enough and just works beautifully. Hats off to the design team on this one.
