35 Krabi Noi, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81000, Thailand
1260 steps not for the faint of heart! Awesome hike up much easier getting down ! Breath taking views and peaceful atmosphere. Only problem is finding the tiger cave temple. Walked and saw the big tree and took a stroll through some of the caves at the bottom but still could not locate the tiger cave.
This is a must see when near Krabi. The 1260 steps might sound easy but as the steps are pretty high (the cimb is comparable with 77 floors) and with the average temperature in this place, you will have a hard time getting up if you do not have at least a moderate to good average fitness. The views from the top are all worth it. 50 baht entry fee for the entire temple complex including the climb. Be aware of stealing monkeys at the foot of the hill.
To be honest I came here thinking the climb to the top wasn’t going to be that difficult. I was humbled. It was pretty hot when I was climbing but the views were well worth it. There is a drinking fountain up there to my relief. The other temples are also very beautiful. Definitely worth a visit.
An Unforgettable Hike to Tiger Temple I recently had the opportunity to visit the Vattamsakalo Tiger Temple, and it was truly a memorable experience. To reach the temple, you need to climb 1,230 steps on foot—a journey that is both physically demanding and deeply rewarding. At first, I expected it to be tougher, but once I began the ascent, I realized just how challenging it can be. Depending on your fitness level, the climb can take between 45 minutes to an hour. It’s a real workout, but the stunning scenery and peaceful atmosphere along the way make it worthwhile. The descent can vary as well, taking anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes. Once at the top, the effort is more than rewarded. The views are breathtaking, and the temple itself radiates a sense of serenity and spirituality that makes the entire journey meaningful. I highly recommend this hike to anyone who enjoys nature, physical activity, and cultural landmarks. It’s an experience that will stay with you—and absolutely worth every step.
The temple is located at the top of a hill, and reaching it requires climbing 1,260 steps, which can be challenging for many people, leading some to turn back during the ascent. However, the view from the top is spectacular. The surrounding rock formations are breathtaking. It's important to note that entry to the temple requires wearing clothing that covers the shoulders and knees, and shoes must be removed before entering. The area has a fascinating history worth learning about. At the base of the hill, there are restaurants where you can enjoy delicious smoothies. Be cautious, as many monkeys roam the area and can be quite bold, sometimes grabbing food from visitors. It's advisable to be vigilant, as some of these monkeys may carry diseases like rabies
