Big Buddha Temple is a worthy place to visit when you're in Pattaya. The entrance itself with the magnificent 7 headed dragon / snake / mystical creature is a wow.. then we proceed walking up to the top where you could witness a lot of Buddha statue. You can do your donation or offering at the temple, state your wishes and subsequently walk around. At 1 side of the area, you will notice Monday to Sunday Buddha, which means that it is recommended for people to pray for that particular Buddha based on the day you were born! Mine was a sleeping Buddha ? and I love it!! You will not be spending gazillion hours there but maybe an hour to slowly admire the surroundings, the intrinsic sculptures they have there while feeling a sense of peacefulness at the same (provided no one plays fire crackers!! ?)

It's a nice place for a quick visit. No need for tickets. We took a taxi to get up the hill. There's a car park which was filled with busses, filled with tourists ? the staircase leading up is lovely but it was overcrowded at the time we were there, and difficult to take photos. Apart from Big Budda, there are other Buddha's including the laughing one with an open belly button where you can try and aim and throw a coin into for good luck ? Toilets and a souvenir shop are available too. Ah, the views of the city were not that great.

Situated at the top of Pratamnak Hill, there is a beautiful 18 meter sitting Buddha statue. There is plenty of parking and easy to climb stairs leading up to the main area. When you get to the top there are great views of the city and surrounding areas along with a number of other statues. Females have to have their shoulders and knees covered, but there are sarongs for those who need them. It is free to enter but can get busy with tourists. Give yourself about an hour to fully look around. If visiting Pattaya, definitely add this to your itinerary.

BIG BUDDHA TEMPLE This is a beautiful temple. There is a clear sign indicating the direction to go, a short walk up a hill and then you reach the temple. Suggest going there early in morning or an evening. The stairs leading up provide a photo opportunity. In the temple, there are multiple forms of Buddha there, and great views from the top across the city of Pattaya. Nearby there are walking trails too.

A visit to the Big Buddha in Pattaya is a must if you’re looking for calm vibes and a spiritual break from the city buzz.
