Chilling place to be in, learning about the monk who burned himself to death in protest of the South Vietnamese regime's treatment of Buddhists. 1160 years ago and there's a lot of documentation about him, and is considered one of the legendary heroes here and people come to worship him. Situated near very busy street and construction sites a monument to heroism and self-sacrifice.

Found in the middle of a busy district, surrounded by several establishments. Easily accessible and landmark area. The place is dedicated to remember the monk who burned himself to death in protest of the South Vietnamese regime's treatment of Buddhists. At the back of the statue, there are informative tarpaulins telling the story and showing the picture documentation of the event.

Thich Quang Duc was a Buddhist Monk who bravely commited self immolation for a cause he believed in. His actions had inspired others and caused a chain reaction that changed the history in Vietnam. His story has really generated so much emotion from those who have heard and seen it. Glad this monument was built in honor of him.

A very moving monument, and the grounds are immaculate. A place all visitors should go, as the self immolation of Thich Quang Duc is such an important part of history of Saigon

This is a thoughtfully conceived, beautifully executed and immaculately maintained monument to Thich Quang Duc. While I was there visitors of all ages came and solemnly offered incense. At night the lighting makes the whole mural look like it is on fire. Visiting this was for me one of the most memorable and deeply moving moments of my visit.
