Recently renovated and you can walk all the way to see the penguins. However penguins don’t come out during the day, so there’s really no chance of seeing them unless you are lucky to spot them before the closing time of 6pm. Lots of spaces available for you to laze around soaking up the sunshine or jumping into the waters if you fancy.

One of the best piers in Victoria, this beautiful spot is in a convenient location and easily accessible by car or tram. Parking is reasonably priced—$9 for the first hour and $22 for the day. There are plenty of seating areas where you can relax and enjoy stunning views of the bay and city skyline. It’s also a fantastic place for fishing ?. I love spending time here in the evenings and early nights, and you’ll often find a bit of a crowd even around midnight. Nearby, you’ll find plenty of food and drink options. Highly rated and highly recommended!

St Kilda Pier is a gorgeous place to visit, especially on a warm day or around sunset. The views are stunning, the vibe is calm and relaxing and it's also an amazing spot for a swim. In the evening, it’s extra special when the little penguins come out from the rocks. It’s a magical experience, but it’s so important to be respectful. The penguins sleep in the rocks and can be easily disturbed by noise. When we visited, there were quite a few loud people and kids near the penguin area, despite signs asking for quiet. Please enjoy this beautiful place and help protect the penguins so everyone can continue to enjoy the experience.

It is a lovely place to visit if you are located close to the city, particularly on a sunny day. The sunset views are to die for, and one can also see a beautiful view of the city skyline. The pier has been recently renovated and is now open from the morning till 5 PM. There are ample places to sit, few cafes nearby to enjoy a cup of hot coffee and has nice walking tracks too. Summers are quite crowded. The best part about this pier is one can see little penguins near the rocks by the pier, particularly during sunset. It is advisable to keep silence near the rocks so as to not disturb the penguins while clicking their photos.

St Kilda Pier is an absolute gem in Melbourne’s vibrant coastal scene, and my visit was nothing short of spectacular! This iconic spot offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, lively atmosphere, and convenient amenities that make it a must-visit destination?. The pier itself is a scenic delight, stretching out into Port Phillip Bay with breathtaking views of the city skyline and the shimmering water. Visiting in the evening was a brilliant choice—the sunset paints the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple, creating a magical backdrop for a leisurely stroll. The gentle sea breeze and the sound of waves lapping against the pier add to the serene yet lively vibe. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the resident fairy penguins waddling back to their burrows at dusk—an adorable highlight! One of the standout features is the accessibility and convenience. The parking area near the pier is well-organized, with plenty of spots available even during peak evening hours. While parking isn’t free, the rates are quite reasonable for such a prime location, making it hassle-free to drive in and enjoy the experience without breaking the bank. The pay for amenities and nearby facilities is also very fair. The kiosks and cafes along the foreshore offer a range of delicious food and drinks at decent prices, perfect for grabbing a coffee or fish and chips to enjoy while soaking in the views. The area feels safe and well-maintained, with clean pathways and ample seating to relax and take it all in. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, St Kilda Pier in the evening is an unforgettable experience. The combination of stunning scenery, affordable parking, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a top-tier destination
