My visit to the Palace of Versailles on February 27, 2025, was a five-star experience that left me in awe of its historical grandeur and modern touches. The palace’s interior, particularly the Hall of Mirrors and the Kings’ Private Apartments, was breathtaking, with every gilded detail and preserved room showcasing Louis XIV’s opulence. A guided tour and audio guide enriched my understanding, though signage could be clearer to navigate the 10 million annual visitors. The special VR experience, immersing me in 1682’s gardens, and Guillaume Bresson’s contemporary art exhibition added a fresh, dynamic layer to the visit. The gardens, while quieter in February without the Musical Fountains Show, were still stunning, with André Le Nôtre’s Baroque design evident in every path and sculpture. Renting a bicycle made exploring the vast estate, including the Grand Trianon and Marie Antoinette’s Hameau de la Reine, a delight. The low-season free garden entry was a bonus, though I’d love to return in spring for the fountains. Despite the winter season, the serene beauty and historical charm of the grounds were undeniable. Service was commendable, with courteous staff and an engaging tour guide, though the entry queue took about 30 minutes despite a timed 11:30 AM slot. Booking tickets online was essential, and while the on-site café was convenient but pricey, the overall experience was seamless. Versailles blends history, art, and innovation effortlessly, making it a must-visit. I recommend arriving early, wearing comfortable shoes for the extensive walking, and embracing the palace’s timeless elegance and evolving cultural offerings. I’m already eager to return!

The palace is worth visiting when coming to Paris. The inside is spectacular but… the outside is breathtaking. Take time walking through the most incredible gardens and fountains. It is worth every second being in the outdoor beauty. Make sure to really sit and take in the beauty it has to offer. The gold accents on the gates make a beautiful background to take amazing photos, it features a lot of details within it. Make sure to allot at least 4 hours to being there.

This place is definitely a top must see. However, take note that the gardens are just as important as the inside of the main building. While my family and I ventured around the tour groups seemed to take over and made some of the experiences really not enjoyable. We had a timed ticket for 11am and it took time to get in. Which was to be expected, long lines. But there was no organization on traffic flow from the people working there. Some places were way over crowded. There was a train that helped us get around on the outside but not information on where to wait for it. I think we picked the wrong day to go, the landscape was interrupted by barricades for an event happening that night. That was really unfortunate for taking good pictures of the gardens and outside of the buildings. If you’ve continued reading this review, overall the Palace of Versailles was wonderful and worth the visit but make note you’re not going to see it all in one day. Map it out and make a plan. It is all so beautiful.

Absolutely stunning, but very crowded — especially in summer. Expect long queues and packed hallways, so aim to arrive before opening time. Once inside, it’s all worth it. The Hall of Mirrors is something truly magical — glittering, grand, and unforgettable. The gardens, which are free to enter, offer a peaceful escape and make a perfect picnic spot. A must-visit, just plan wisely!

Grand property to visit , and understand the culture of the surrounding.while going here wear comfortable footwear as lot of walking needed to go around. Virtual session was fun can buy tickets in advance. No waiting time inside the palace though it was crowded but it was moving on good pace. Can bring little munches to eat in compound outside palace without making litter. Here you can find some beautiful, ancient spots to click.
