We stayed in the regular villa, which was spacious and featured a large bathroom with an impressive smart toilet. The room and service were both excellent and exceeded expectations.

However, the dining experience could use some improvement. The food at both Azure and Ocean restaurants, as well as the breakfast buffet, was underwhelming — dishes were often cold, and the chicken served was especially dry.

The resort is located quite far from the main Bintan resort area, about an hour’s drive away. While this means it’s less convenient for visiting popular attractions like the Blue Lake or mangrove forest, the upside is a peaceful, secluded environment that offers more privacy.

Overall, it was a decent stay with standout service and comfort, though the food and location might not suit everyone.

Positives:

* "Japanese" toilet
* Two sinks
* Nice view with private pool and you can walk straight into the sea
* Friendly and quick service
* Minibar available
* Good breakfast and ditto restaurant
* Cheap beer
* Roof terrace

Points of improvement:

* You can't get the bedroom dark due to narrow windows at the front of the flat. You have to use a sleeping mask because of this.
* Musty smell
* Could use a refurbishment (lots of rust spots)
* The platform outside can be slippery and there is no fence which can create a dangerous situation.

General note: many reviews complain that the distance to the hotel from the ferry is long. However, this is something you could have known beforehand if you had studied a little.

it's really nice!! the design, the architecture of the place is one of a kind per se. staff are all very kind and friendly, including the cute cats roaming around ? the only downside is its' location as it's very far from the city or anywhere, but, do consider this, u go to a resort, you definitely want to relax and just enjoy the view. anyway, the resort has everything you need, restaurant, in-room massage, swimming pools (including the one in your villa), so you won't want to get out though.. I am not in any way affiliated with the resort but do consider checking in here the next time u want to go to bintan island. it's such a waste if you didn't even have the chance to check out on this beautiful property.

I had a disappointing experience during my recent stay at One of a Kind Bintan on 16 May 2025. We took Villa Aqua Executive room.

Firstly, the room that was initially assigned to us had a faulty electrical system, which required us to change rooms at night.

Unfortunately, the second room also had issues — the bathtub faucet was clogged, and we had to call for a technician to fix it.

Just when we thought the problems were over, we were contacted after making full payment the next day and told that the bill was incorrect, with a request for additional payments.

This is not only inconvenient but also highly unprofessional for a hotel that promotes itself as a premium resort. I had much higher expectations for this hotel, especially considering its remote location — over an hour’s drive from the ferry terminal and most of the attractions  — and the additional IDR 900,000 (IDR 450,000 each way) we had to pay for transport just to reach the property.

Overall, the experience did not justify the cost, and I cannot recommend this hotel based on our stay.

Resort looks nice but rooms aren’t as well-maintained as seen in the pictures. Aircon had problems and a lot of the amenities were rusty. Service was very good, and staff were friendly and helpful. Resort breakfast was average, but the food options from both restaurants in the resort is pretty extensive. Location is far from the usual tourist spots, about 1 hour travel.
