My better half mentioned this is a private museum and known to be a garden oasis as well. She got it right again. We bought tickets at the door. There's a minor discount if you buy tickets online. We headed to the garden upon entry. It's nice to take a stroll away from the maddening crowds and enjoy a well-manicured Japanese garden in the heart of the city. The museum itself has a few galleries/rooms containing ancient artefacts collected from nearby Asian countries

Just the most exquisite place in Tokyo! I go straight back into the garden and spend all my time meandering on every path. Each one is a revelation. The museum is also very beautiful, as is the tea house but not compared to the gardens. It is a special oasis in the heart of Tokyo! All the gifts for people back home are bought at this museum store. It’s a small store but has the most exquisite things!

An absolute must-visit when you are in Tokyo! Relatively small in size but truly magnificent exhibitions (strictly no photography inside the halls),: gorgeous garden with a restaurant, friendly helpful staff. Located in a beautiful part of Tokyo. Highly recommended!

Very high quality collections! Worth re-visit every time in Tokyo, the garden is so well designed & maintained, every step comes with a beautiful view 一步一景, like a natural painting. Every season it’d be beautiful. I’ll come back for summer & autumn view again & check out new exhibitions.

This is a gem, not known to the majority of tourists. It’s not in the priority list, usually. It’s worth a visit, though. The architecture is spectacular and the garden is very beautiful. Also the works collected by the owners over the years are interesting. Don’t miss it!
