13 Clinton St, Toodyay WA 6566, Australia
The Newcastle Gaol Museum is a former prison complex famous for one of its former residents, Moondyne Joe. The self guided tour takes you around the facility which is full of information of living in Toodyay during the early settlement times. There is also some acknowledgements to former residents during that time. For the kids there is an exciting mouse hunt where they explore and fine the toy mice hidden around the exhibits. Tickets are very reasonabley priced, limited packing roadside.
We had a great Sunday in Toodyay. There is plenty to explore here and only an hour from Swan Valley. We had a coffee and light meal in town too. Would recommend for a day trip from Perth.
A very well presented museum with a lot of information about the history of the area.
Great little Goal. Exhibits where good. Well kept museum. Little bears scattered around for you and the children to find.
