Would recommend a visit here to spend a few hours to discover some fantastic Thai artists. Spread across multiple floors, I spent about 4 hours here taking in some very interesting art by some well-known international names and some wonderful Thai artists I discovered. There’s a cafe and a shop on the ground floor as well. The only thing I didn’t like was that they allow influencers and others to do photo shoots here and it interrupts the viewing experience, with one social media influencer even leaning on and sitting on the installations. The guards don’t seem to bother with this, which is so surprising compared to museums anywhere else in the world.

I visited MOCA Bangkok with my family for a relaxed day out at an art gallery. It is a little far from the city centre but well worth it if you can fit it into your itinerary. There’s a very generous (60%) discount for local and international students as well. The collection includes sculptures, paintings and photographs by Thai and international artists, with each floor featuring a unique theme. I particularly enjoyed the exhibition of Thawan Duchanee’s works, the western-themed “Richard Green” room on the 5th floor, and the mask collection (among others!). The exhibition did a great job showcasing the common heritage of Indian and Southeast Asian art. I was also impressed by the attention to detail. Even the chairs have unique and charming designs. The collection includes many *sensual* depictions of women’s bodies; if this makes you uncomfortable, please be advised. Overall, I had a great time at MOCA and would recommend visiting, especially if you are a student here in Bangkok.

The museum itself is very nice and modern. It’s a good idea to go there to see something different from the many Buddhist temples that you can see. I selected 4 stars because personally I don’t like the extremely realistic oil on canvas paintings.

Amazing collection and well arranged exposition. It took us 1,30 hour to go through all floors. It is inspiring! And of course if no rush - can easily spend there half a day. Good also it is on the way from city to Don Mueang airport

Quite a large museum with a nice permanent collection spread across five floors, and it has a nice cafe as well. 300 baht for foreigners prices it as probably the most expensive art museum in the city but it’s worth it. Plan at least two hours to explore it fully. The museum is fairly far away from central Bangkok, it’s close to the airport rail line but if you’re staying in Sukhumvit it takes a while to get there.
