Great temple located 10 minutes walk from Kiyomizu but only a fraction of the visitor numbers! Entrance fee was 800 yen and it was almost empty walking through the beautiful garden on the Friday afternoon I went back in early November. There is also a lovely bamboo forest here with no crowds. Unfortunately some major buildings were covered up for renovation, but there is plenty to appreciate with the huge garden.

An excellent temple to visit in the morning. The temple is very wonderful, vibrant and has astonishing beauty to it. The price is 800 yen but it is worth it. You can also visit the bamboo forest near by. While in winter it is still quite pretty to view. The gardens are also very nice to visit too. Recommend going early as the temple opens around 8:45 am, to avoid major crowds

A nice temple to visit a few stairs along the way but nothing too difficult. With the bamboo forest to see also entry fee is about 7 euros. There is also a place to sit drink green tea and have a small rice ball cake again for another 7 euros. Worth a look as it is located right next to a Buddhist temple and some nice rural shopping streets which are very busy

Do yourself a favour and visit this temple in the evening! They have a beautiful pathway that you follow. Beautiful story and Lightshow.
