Lyons River Rd, Kennedy Range WA 6701, Australia
Underrated Spot! Had a lovely day trip out to Kennedy's, and was blown away by the size and everything. Really nice walks through the ranges, and well maintained parking/camping sites, for a remote location. The gorges and cliffs were stunning. It was like something from another world. Just spectacular. It was the start of December, unseasonably hot and just after noon. Temperatures were well over 40°C and probably even more in the gorges. Nothing moved, not even reptiles, and we were the only ones foolish enough to be out in the heat! The scenery was so amazing though, with jagged rocks and water washed paths. Definitely worth a visit. Accessible by 2WD if you are cautious.
Great experience. V hot and dusty wen we arrived but took the walk through Temple Gorge. Walked the Honeycomb Gorge trail from Temple Gorge at 0700 hrs, it was lovely and cool with an easy walk through stunning scenery and abundant birdlife, give yourself a couple of hours for this walk.
Great Outback camping spot. Very good gravel access roads and interesting gorge walks, with small water pools at the end of the gorges, if you get that far. Alternative accommodation available at Gascoyne Junction a short 60 kms away at the caravan park with excellent meals at the tavern next door.
Just a must to visit. Amazing scenery. 60klm of dirt road from Gascoyne Junction was in very good condition and suitable for 2W drive.
Several days of exploring in this beautiful and remote location, just avoid the heat of the summer, and any days of heavy rain. The loop road is epic, rough and wild. We drove it in 6 hrs.
