Well maintained working mosque, an Indian Muslim mosque. . Info plaques in English, great, but best of all, a very dedicated free tour guide available any time. She was great. I learned a lot. They provide pamphlets that will answer all your questions.

Approachable for non Muslims with free robes to meet dress requirements. Conveniently located near little India and other architecturally interesting temples. Great area for a walk around of George town culture.

The Kapitan Keling Mosque is claimed to be the oldest mosque built during 19th century by Indian Muslim traders in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Its architecture is a combination of Gothic, Moorish and Roman arches with calligraphy panels and stained-glass windows. It is opened for public to visit during 1.00pm to 5.00pm on Saturday to Thursday and 3.00pm – 5.00pm on Friday. Visitors will be required to wear a robe that is provided by the mosque. To reach this mosque, visitors may take Rapid Penang bus to Chulia Street (Love Lane bus stop) on both directions. From this bus stop, the mosque is within 3-5 minutes walking distance.
