Cool place if you want to see the whole Kaohsiung. Tickets are quite cheap, it's not the same as in Taipei. I recommend you to go the at least half hour before the sun goes down so you can enjoy Kaohsiung with during the day and later during the night. Also be sure the visibility is OK (specially not during the bad weather or when there is a air pollution).

Better atmosphere than Taipei 101 inside. Comfortably sitting there watching sunset.

Kaohsiung is a beautiful city, a love of mine. The 85 tower offers much impressive views of land, mountain, and water. Seems to be obviously much better than Taipei 101. Unfortunately it rarely has visitors, definitely less than 1% of Taipei 101's visitors. That's really sad to see. It's a tragic reflection of government public policy in preferential tourism promotions. Hopefully one day this city can thrive and this place can be better appreciated.

Splendid scenery,no queue to go up and entrance fee reasonable..however it's a pity that the entrance is on a building sideway not like what u would expect..a bigger entrance and attractive sign will be great for the promotion of this sight as it is worth visiting.

It's a quaint and nice peaceful place. But if you want discounts bring an ID. It takes 40 seconds or so for you to get to the top. Senior citizens are NTD125, Students with ID is NTD 200 and normal price is NTD 250. The entrance is in a hotel, the one facing a park/intersection.
