We visited Jiufen Old Street twice in different seasons, and each time offered a unique experience. The narrow alleys, lined with food stalls, tea houses, and souvenir shops, create a lively atmosphere. Walking through the streets, we enjoyed local delicacies and traditional snacks. During one visit, we stopped at the most iconic tea house for a break. Sitting by the window with a pot of tea, we took in the scenic views of the mountains and the sea. The peaceful setting contrasted with the busy streets outside, making it a memorable moment. Jiufen can get crowded, especially on weekends, but the charm of the old town remains. The mix of history, culture, and stunning landscapes makes it a place worth visiting more than once. We would recommend arriving early to explore at a relaxed pace.

Wow! Magnificent view! Lots of things to offer such as stores( foods, souvenirs, etc). The views are incredible and cool breeze is a plus. Lots of restaurants and so much more. Note: wear comfortable shoes it’s gonna be a long walk. Cash is king ( bring Taiwan dollar) Restroom: there are two restrooms I used during my exploration: first restroom next to the entrance which is always full and long line the second one is below family mart . Took the stairs toward the beautiful temple and the restroom will be in your left(very clean and no line)

Lovely area to walk around but wayyy too many tourists. Come between 7-8.30 for a quieter vibe and clear photos! But stuff does close early. Good food options include ru rou fan, ice cream rolls, sausages, mushrooms, taro balls. Great place to chill at a teahouse too.

Gotta be honest, this place is flooded with tourists. But can you really blame it? The place truly feels like it was inspired by the film Spirited Away. Though it doesn't have any official connection to the film or its creators, you’ll still get the same feeling because of its location. For future travelers, it’s best to go early to avoid the flood of tourists. Also, best to bring an umbrella. Make sure to wear your walking shoes and knee pads, if ever, as there are a lot of stairs.

Jiufen Old Street is a charming place. We went around 2 PM and it was already packed with people, but that just added to the energy. The narrow corners and alleyways are full of charm. Lots of stores selling souvenirs, snacks, and local food. We ate at a small spot (forgot the name) but the food was really good. The mountain and sea views from the top are also beautiful.
