No. 底, Lane 136, Section 1, Huanshan Rd, Neihu District, Taipei City, Taiwan 114
We got there by public transport, about 1h+! The hike was so much fun, wear good shoes if you’re thinking to go on the rock climbing trail. You could get up there with other trails that are easier. The view on top is spectacular! Took us about 2 hours return with photos and rest stop.
15 mins walk from Xihu station. This trail leads you to Scissors Rock where you can get an unobstructed view of Taipei. Definitely follow the rock climbing trail; it really is a lot of fun! Budget around 3-4 hours return if you wish to stay a little longer at the peak to enjoy the views. I recommend going in the late afternoon so you may catch the sunset. You can either loop back or head down from Scissors Rock to Neihu Rd, Section 3. If you choose the latter, you will pass a couple of smaller hills along the way. Afterwards, you can have your dinner near Neihu station. Korean BBQ +1 ?
This was a family friendly trail just off the busy city districts. You may choose to go out and back or go around the loop. Each intersection along the trail was clear marked with directions. Each rest area had a full map. There was a long rocky slope that was equipped with cables. That rocky floor was curved with walkable steps to make it easier to walk up or down. Highly recommended for outdoor exercise. It was also good for birding.
Amazing hike that is not your never ending stairs type of hike. Quite a work out for the kids where they had to pull on ropes and scramble up some rocks. Go slow and safe and this would be a hike to remember! We took 2.5hrs starting from trailhead to scissors rock and looping back from the cliff path. Younger girl is 115cm if it helps and we were not the only family with kids on the hike. No public toilets or water fountain on this hike.
One of the most rewarding hikes I've ever done for the effort. It is very vertical so be aware, but I saw children and older people accomplishing it. The cliffs are challenging (more like a slope) but feel so good as you find your foot holds and make it past them. The views of the city are gorgeous and it's excellent exercise. Do this hike, you will not regret it.
