44 Jingshan W St, 景山 Xicheng District, Beijing, China, 100009
A beautiful park where you can just stroll among the flowers, or go up to several point views, which offer a good view of the Forbidden City and Beijing itself. A lot of beautiful local girls come to take videos and photos in national costumes - we even saw very small children, they looked very cute. It’s great when people cherish their history and culture. There are much fewer people than in the Forbidden City itself. And the ticket costs only 2 yuans per an adult.
Perfect place for an excellent view of the Forbidden city. You need to climb all the stairs up to the top. The park itself is quite beautiful. You might find local women dressed up in traditional ways as well. Very clean and well maintained park.
A very famous park behind the forbidden palace where you can get a high view of the forbidden city. Tickets cost like a 1-2 dollars if I remember correctly and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to hike up to the top. You not only get a nice view of the forbidden city but a nice view of the city as well. It’s also where the last emperor of the Ming dynastic hung himself.
Jingshan Park (景山公园) is a beautifully landscaped imperial park just north of the Forbidden City. Built in the Yuan dynasty and expanded during the Ming, it was once a private imperial garden. The park is famous for Jingshan Hill, a man-made hill created from the earth excavated to build the Forbidden City’s moat. It now offers the best panoramic view of the Forbidden City and central Beijing.
Please note that google maps in China does not work. in the park you can climb to a small elevation and have a very nice view of the forbidden city. the pavilion on the height is located in an axis with the largest and most famous sights of Beijing city center.
