A must-visit spot in Bangkok! I was genuinely blown away by the Jim Thompson House. It’s one of those places that instantly pulls you into a different time — traditional Thai architecture, beautifully preserved antiques, and a super peaceful garden. You can really feel the character and taste of the man who once lived there. The guided tour was short but super informative — not boring at all. The stories behind the art and architecture made everything come alive. One heads-up though: the silk products in the gift shop are stunning, but very expensive. Definitely luxury-tier — great if you're looking for a special gift, but not really for casual shopping. Still, 100% worth visiting. It’s not just a museum — it’s an experience.

What a fascinating museum of Thai cultural artworks and artefacts collected by an American businessman reknown for mentoring the Thai silk industry. Beautiful and well-made silk items for sale - and highly recommended by two Thai strangers as we returned to the rail station. The gardens are worth a visit on their own, but having lunch in the restaurant was an absolute delight. Superior customer service by Arm and the fixed menu contained traditional Thai dishes that were sensational for a total spend of 1250 Baht each for lunch. I was blown away by the Yum Som O Goong Yarng - a seasonal pomelo salad with spicy herbal dressing, cashew nuts and herbs topped with char-grilled prawns! An absolute highlight of our visit to Bangkok.

This lovely heritage home and its surrounding complex are just lovely. There is so much history and beauty in one place. The short tour through the house takes you back in time. The art, decor, and design of the house are all a thing of beauty. But the main highlight for me was the greenery surrounding the house and how peaceful it felt to walk around. Also, a nice cafe on the premise where you can sit and enjoy some Thai Tea.

I was very impressed with the architecture here. When I watched old Thai movies, I thought I would definitely visit here. Finally, I got to see the scenery of Jim Thompson House with my own eyes. The staff was nice and friendly. A memorable experience in my life. Love from Vietnamm?????

Interesting home, but the tour really was more about the house itself rather than the life of its builder. Nonetheless it was interesting and pretty. It's very hot and the tour has almost no AC until the very end so keep cool and maybe bring a hand fan.
