Very interesting historic site leaned quite allot about the history and the hot springs in this area definitely worth a visit here with a guide would be best would take you about 1~2 hours to walk though the place.

Nice place with a lot of history and hot springs. I went to this place on a tour with around 15 other people. As it snowed heavily that day and the temperature is very low, the visibility is actually low as well, so I was not able to see some views that can be seen on a sunny day. Other than that, it's a nice place to spend a few hours especially if you are on a tour to Terra Cotta as well.

Nice place to visit 华清池位于中华人民共和国陕西省西安临潼区骊山北麓，是唐代华清宫内的温泉浴池，以温泉和风景秀丽著称，更因唐玄宗和杨贵妃的爱情故事而著称于世。华清池是中国国家5A级旅游景区。景区内有唐代华清宫御汤遗址博物馆、西安事变旧址。现今华清池的多数亭台楼阁，多为1949年以来修建恢复的仿唐代建筑，现在的华清池坐落在唐代华清宫遗址上，只占盛唐时的一小部分。 相传西周时期周幽王就曾在此建骊宫。秦始皇时以石筑室，名为“骊山汤”。汉武帝时扩建为离宫。唐代又经唐太宗和唐玄宗时的两次大肆扩建，唐玄宗天宝年间改名“华清宫”，这时的规模最为富丽堂皇，但经安史之乱后已遭毁坏。1982年考古发现唐代华清宫皇家沐浴汤池殿基遗址，考古清理出包括五组唐代皇家汤池等遗址，1990年正式对外开放。1996年华清宫遗址被国务院正式列为第四批全国重点文物保护单位。 1878年，清代临潼知县沈家祯在华清池修建“环园”，成为清代、中华民国时期的著名景点。1936年12月12日，张学良、杨虎城在此发动兵谏，扣押了蒋介石，史称“西安事变”。1982年华清池内主要历史建筑五间厅被列为第二批全国重点文物保护单位。
