brilliant. revisited after a few years in early january, few people there, some kids with parents, all good. really can’t go wrong for the price, totally worth it. spent 2.5 hours there. pretty open to the elements, so take a hat. water available throughout, take a refillable bottle. very lovely little place to visit. 100% recommend. lots to read on signage and everything allowed to be entered/touched etc.

Cool place that showcases what living in the 1800s was like. We went on a Live day which is slightly more expensive but has extra things like games, performances, book binding and talks. Overall quite a fun experience for children although the two gentlemen at the smithy did not engage with people at all, they just carried on with their smithing like no one existed. Good acting maybe? Lots of shaded seats for picnics

It is a historical park with large and small houses in a large garden that arouses children's curiosity. There is a cafe and a souvenir shop at the entrance, and the parking lot was not crowded. There is a children's playground and various sports clubs nearby. It was a pity that we could not see everything because it closed at 4pm, perhaps because we visited on a public holiday. However, the children were able to play to their heart's content in the children's playground, which was very nice.

For those who love History: You got see this! Howick Historical Village has got to be the most beautiful experience we’ve had. The place, village, workshop, School, Church, court room, houses from a 1800’s perspective is just a beautiful moment. It feels like you are in the moment and how they lived back in the days.

During the school holidays, I organized a city-wide treasure hunt across Auckland for my daughter. To begin with, she would find a “very old” message in a bottle planted in one of the old sites. Enter the wonderful staff at Howick Historical Village who played along helped with my plan and started what was an epic adventure for my 7 year old. Can’t thank you guys enough. Much much appreciated!
