Had a wonderful day out on the steam ranger. Loved every moment of the trip down the hill and back Holly was great help during the trip helping with our window and gave some great announcement getting a giggle out of us all. Really enjoyed it. Can recommend getting in early on the day to get a good seat
My partner and I booked tickets for the dinner cart. The train was pretty with both a 1950s and 1920s themed carts which were assigned at random. The meal was nice but definitely not worth the price tag, but in saying that most of the ticket price goes towards the upkeep of the trains and the railway is run by volunteers. The train ride took 3 hours and was a pleasant experience. The staff were also very kind. I would recommend doing this at least once if you’re in the area.
If you love the Australian forrest, you come to the right place. Try something different and hop on the Hotham Valley Train. A pleasant 90 min. return ride. The train stops after 45 min at Etmilyn where you can stretch the legs for a short walk through the forrest. A very unique experience, not to be missed. The staff are vollenteers , friendly and helpful
My husband and I had a wonderful time on the restaurant train last night. We had been wanting to try this for a while and it did not disappoint. From start to finish all the staff (volunteers) were friendly, professional, accomodating and polite. You can tell the effort they put in to make it a great experience for the passengers. The food reminded me of lovely home cooking and we were so full by the end. The train itself was clean and quaint. We highly recommend this experience to others looking for a unique experience and we’ll be returning for one of the day trips in the near future.
Such a great day trip. Beautiful part of the country to drive through before arriving in Dwellingup which has great food options with several cafes and the local pub. A beaut general store set up. The train trip is a little bit of Harry Potter magic in the South-West of Western Australia. A fabulous ride for all ages. The visitors centre is also a must see. Book early so you don't miss out.
