No. 2808號, Nanxing Rd, Siaogang District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan 812
This place is ok, but the best part is the yacht ride. We got the yacht from Pier 2 on a Monday, it leaves at 3:40pm on weekdays at the moment (their website said 3pm but they said sometimes it changes so might want to call first). Got a round ticket as the shuttle bus to Xiaogang station doesn't run anymore on weekdays. Worth every cent (nt300 return). We got to see the entire length of the Port and got heaps of great photos. My parents loved it.
The traffic is not convenient on weekdays. Only by ferry or self driving. However the ferry have a guide to introduce the port of Kaohsiung history and development from 19 century, Japanese colonies to after world war II until now. However the ferry fee cost me around 560 NTW it is little bit expensive. I suggest go to there on weekend or public holidays because the traffic will more convenient and they have a package for the ferry and other sightseeing point
A nice place to go in the afternoon to enjoy a nice walk. There is beautiful harbour view and sunset. The park itself is not very big. Full of old stuffs that you can understand how people lived here decades ago. The only downside is that restaurant and shop staffs are unfriendly and without passion.
The weather in Kaohsiung that day was scorching hot. We can take a boat operated by Kaohsiung government to Hongmaogang Cultural Park or drive ourselves. There are a few place to escape from the fierce sunlight,it’s recommended to bring an umbrella to shade ourselves. Luckily, there is an air conditioned exhibition center presenting the story of this park, giving us a place to take a short break.
Good place to learn grandpa life and have many fun and knowledge with children
