I'm glad I wasn't put off by the negative reviews. If Secret Garden has been degraded then it must of been heaven on earth before! I found it still beautiful though amazed that people had left their trash behind. Simple, bring a bag as we did, and collect rubbish, put in bin on way out, kids enjoyed it! There is parking for about 5 vehicles at the Secret Garden entrance and street parking further up towards the shade sail playground on Careniup ave. It was muddy when we went and it is not even winter so lucky we were wearing gumboots. I was glad I had left a plastic tub in the car to put our muddy boots in and a change of shoes. I'd bring a towel for your car seats if you have young ones or a change of clothes for the trip home. There is a part of the secret garden which is covered in vine and there is also a bamboo section which is equally impressive. There is planks to cross the water ways. We encouraged the kids to only play with the bamboo which was on the ground rather than snapping off growing shoots, pretty basic respectful type behaviour for future people to also enjoy this place. There is a small playground at one side and a shade sail playground on the other side. Karrinyup waters resort/caravan park back rear fence line adjoins the Secret Garden.

An amazing place to bring your kids to explore and walk. In the winter months be sure to bring old shoes or your wellies as some areas are quite muddy. Your kids will have an absolute ball exploring the tracks and trails that weave though this great park. The vines that grow over the trees give this place a cool swampland look that is very different from most parks and walk ways in the city. Well worth a look and guaranteed to please your kids.

There’s another secret tunnel not part of the secrets garden. From the parking lot, if you are facing the walkway to the secret garden, turn left onto the grass and walk until you see a leafy tunnel, it is covered by branches and a big leaf. It’s quite dark and tight but keep going though and you’ll enter a big shaded area shaded by dead branches. Keep walking and you’ll come out the other end and see a beautiful landscape. Really super cool!
