Beside Asam pedas (berdekatan klinik desa, Jalan Kampung Sungai Melayu, Kampung Sungai Melayu, 79503 Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia
Very underrated place. Even those JB locals do not know the existence of this place. The boat ride was so fun and got to see 4-5 snakes, 50+ monkeys , blue crab etc. for a 40 min packed boat ride , the RM35 was a great price. We had 2 yr old kid and child friendly with infant life jackets provided. I must mention the locals around the kampung area are so kind and helpful. Our car got 2 tyres punctured due to a sharp unnoticed stone while we departed from the parking space. The local people let us stay in their home, offered drinks and lunch until the tow truck came in. Such a lovely day despite the vehicle issue.
Went on a weekday with my son. Pre-arranged with the boating company and the boatman was already there waiting for us. Please use WhatsApp number provided to book and also get the location of the temporary jetty cos it’s not next to the Asam Pedas restaurant. Boat trip was an hour, most of it in the mangrove and also a visit to the mussel farm. Boatman only spoke Malay but was very helpful and tried to explain things to us as much as he could. Saw monkeys, kingfishers, herons and a mangrove snake. Very nice and peaceful outing. Rounded up with a lunch at the Asam Pedas restaurant. Definitely recommended if you like nature and some time away from the busy city life.
I love this. Definitely coming back for more. My two daughters (5 and 8) enjoyed themselves too. Great for kids who don’t like to walk in the heat. The ride wasn’t too fast, and the kids could manage well. Got to see birds, monkeys, mudskippers, monitor lizards, even a snake! Guide said on lucky days on high tide, you can even spot crocodiles. The staff were all friendly and never touted you. Place is in a kampung area, may be hard to get a Grab out, so give yourself some time to start booking after your boat ride. The kids can make their own mussel shell keychain souvenir before/after the ride. RM6 each.
You can do a walk in trip or book your slot in advance. Interesting 1 hour boat trip of looking at mangroves, animals and the mussel farm near the border of JB & Singapore. The boat driver would explain in Malay about the mangroves, animals around, mussels and etc. You can also ask him questions.
went with my friend on a friday, paid at the coop and the boatman was already there. forgot who his name was but he was nice :) stopped the boat to show us monkeys, birds and other animals. thought us about mussels too. downside was that the mangrove area was kind of dirty :( floating rubbish was seen here and there. overall, fun experience if you can’t visit langkawi ?? kids would love it too!
