First of all this is a PARK so do not expect a "Zoo" experience. And READ THE RULES (and warnings). ? Photographers: You get to take photos of animals in their natural way. But don't expect to see every single listed animal/bug here. Especially birds - they fly free ?‍?‍?‍? Family visits: It's a great way to have a family visit inside this work and enjoy nature. All the paths are relatively flat and there are some wood plank bridges. There are also benches along most paths so you can take a break to rest or enjoy the scenery. And for the others - if you are bringing a group of people or children, control them. This is a natural park. Not something we excessively tampered with. Keep it clean. - if you bring food from outside or anything non-degradable... TAKE IT WITH YOU. (What makes you so ... to bring in stuff and leave after littering ?) - don't disturb the animals and wildlife photographers

Diyasaru Wetland Park is a beautiful and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Colombo. The park is well-maintained, with lush greenery, serene waterways, and an abundance of birdlife—perfect for nature lovers and photographers. The walking trails are clean and easy to navigate, making it great for families, couples, or even solo visitors looking for a quiet stroll. I especially enjoyed the wooden bridges and observation decks, which offer stunning views of the wetlands. The park also does an excellent job promoting environmental education, with informative signboards about local flora and fauna. Entry is affordable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a refreshing outdoor experience close to the city, Diyasaru Wetland Park is a must-visit! Highly recommended.

Diyasaru Park is located near the Parliament in Sri Lanka and is a beautiful green space in Colombo. To enter the park as a local, you need to purchase a ticket for 100 rupees. Upon entering the park, you can easily forget that you're in Colombo due to its lush greenery and serene environment. A map is available to help guide you through the park's paths, where you can observe various insects, butterflies, and birds. There is also a bird-watching tower, making it an ideal spot for bird photography enthusiasts. Benches are provided throughout the park for visitors to relax. The best time to visit is between 6:30 and 7 AM, when you can see a lot of birds. The park is well-maintained, and wedding photography services are available—just be sure to book in advance if you plan to take advantage of that. Overall, I highly recommend Diyasaru Park as an excellent greenery retreat near the bustling city of Colombo.

Diyasaru Park is such a calm and peaceful place—perfect for couples or anyone looking to unwind in nature. The vibe here is so soothing, with lush greenery, gentle water streams, and adorable squirrels darting around! It’s a great spot to hold hands, take a quiet walk, or just sit together and enjoy the serenity. The park is also a photographer’s dream—so many pretty corners, from wooden bridges to lotus ponds, making it ideal for romantic or aesthetic shots. **Just a heads-up:** While it’s beautiful, remember it’s still a wild space. Watch out for snakes and reptiles (especially near water), stick to marked paths, and follow the park’s safety guidelines. A little caution keeps the experience worry-free! If you love nature and quiet moments, this place is a must-visit. ♡
