Since opening in 2017, Chula Park has played a big part in transforming the local community. The park is loved, and visited a lot by locals, Chulalongkorn University students, Bangkokians, and tourists. The park’s arrival has also accelerated a gentrification in the area and while there have been many benefits, there have been some issues too - particularly around the movement of an old shrine. But Chula Park is a great example of an urban park done well and I’m glad it is an integral part of our neighborhood today.

The park was partly and refreshingly inundated by recent rains. I noticed many plants are scientifically tagged. The park has an awesome urban vibe and its design is modern, unusual, and fits well in the Chula campus spirit . You don't feel bored here like in so many other parks in BKK.

Impressive nature-based solution design. Glad to see such a wonderful pilot project finally done right. Water treatment system is amazing, making the whole system run almost 100% no water bills. Exhibitions on the walls are quite detailed too. Toilets are clean but without tissues (understandable). This spot is PRIME! Surrounded by all the cool and chic restaurants.

Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park is a remarkable example of sustainable landscape architecture, offering a green oasis in the heart of hyper-urbanized Bangkok. Designed by LANDPROCESS and N7A Architects, the park successfully combines elegant simplicity, vast open spaces, and thoughtful ecological solutions — such as its gentle slope for flood management and natural cooling. I visited around sunset, and the atmosphere was vibrant yet calm — locals were sitting on the grass, chatting, relaxing, or jogging. The lighting was warm and pleasant, making it an ideal spot for both contemplation and social connection. The park also includes indoor spaces like a gallery and a climate-focused museum, though I didn’t have a chance to explore them this time. ? Pro tip: bring mosquito repellent. It’s not too bad, but better safe than sorry. Definitely worth a visit for architecture lovers, urbanists, or anyone seeking a peaceful break from Bangkok’s intense pace.

Slightly elevated park, with views, large lawn area. Small pond with wooden bridge. Stone rockery with water feature on both sides. Mostly surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. A few benches in the shade. The art center building is currently empty at this time, under renovation as of May 27 2025. Restrooms are still open.
