Cheonjeyeon Waterfall is a beautiful and refreshing spot, surrounded by lush greenery and natural beauty. The falls themselves are stunning, and the walk through the area is scenic and enjoyable. However, be prepared for quite a bit of walking—there are a lot of steep stairs and steps, which can be a bit challenging, especially on a hot/raining day or for those with mobility issues. Still, it’s worth the effort for the views and peaceful ambiance.

Beyond the Tourist Trail: Unveiling the Hidden Layers of Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls. Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls, often described as a three-tiered cascade, holds more secrets and stories than its straightforward name suggests. My recent visit revealed not just stunning natural beauty, but also poignant history and breathtaking panoramic views. The journey begins just a stone's throw from the ticketing office, leading you to what's marked as the first waterfall. However, don't be surprised if you're greeted by a serene pond, the Cheonjeyeon Pond. It's a beautiful sight in its own right, but the 1st waterfall only truly comes alive after a good rain, a reminder of nature's dynamic artistry. A gentle 3-5 minute stroll along a mostly flat path brings you to the undisputed star of the show: the 2nd waterfall. With a dedicated viewing platform, you can truly appreciate the power and beauty of the water as it plunges into the pool below. It's truly a refreshing yet serene experience. As you continue your exploration, drawn perhaps by the elegant arch of the Seonim Bridge, take a moment to notice the significant memorial sculpture nearby. The This poignant tribute commemorates the victims of the Jeju 4.3 incident, a tragic chapter in the island's history. It's a powerful reminder that even amidst natural beauty, there are important stories to remember and learn from. Crossing the Seonim Bridge (선임교) feels like stepping into a Korean legend. This graceful arch is more than just a connection, it's a part of Jeju's rich cultural landscape. On the other side, a short ascent leads to the Cheonjeru Pavilion (천제루 天帝楼). Be sure to climb to the upper floor for a truly panoramic vista of the surrounding lush greenery. And remember to seek out the small, hidden viewing deck beside the pavilion, offering a distant, almost aerial view of the magnificent 2nd waterfall. The final tier, the 3rd waterfall, presents a more adventurous trek. A 10-minute walk along wooden stairs leads you to this shorter cascade. While the view from the side might feel a little less dramatic compared to the second waterfall, the journey through the shaded woodland offers its own charm. It's a good reminder that sometimes the path itself is part of the experience. Tips: 1. The only toilet facilities are located before the ticketing office, by the parking area. Make sure to take advantage of them before you begin your exploration of Cheonjeyeon's wonders. 2. In case you are confused, the geo location is actually the 3rd waterfall.

Very reasonable entry fee, 2500 won per person. Entry to 1st waterfall was closed today. Went to 2nd waterfall via stairs. Coming back up took some effort but worthy for beautiful view of the waterfall. We skipped the 3rd waterfall because we were bit tired. Would do that next time.

Summary: three waterfalls (though one is dry, unless after a heavy rain), a beautiful bridge, amazing scenery and a definite hike everywhere! We had a bit of time before our engagement so we thought we'd come here to have a look - and found that you actually need a longer time to walk around and enjoy the place fully. Ended up needing a shower before our meeting. Ha!

As waterfalls go this is a pretty cute one, and definitely the best of the three falls located within the park (the other two are pretty meh). Nice walk, some steep up and down bits but the steps and walkways are sturdy and well maintained.
