Visiting Brahmavihara Arama, Bali’s largest Buddhist monastery, was an incredibly peaceful and enriching experience. Nestled in the hills near Lovina, this hidden gem offers breathtaking views, beautifully maintained gardens, and a truly calming atmosphere. The temple’s intricate architecture, golden Buddha statues, and stunning stupas make it feel like a little piece of Thailand in Bali. One of the highlights was the miniature Borobudur, which adds to the monastery’s unique charm. Walking through the meditation halls, listening to the gentle sounds of nature, and just sitting in the quiet surroundings made me feel completely at peace. What I loved most was the sense of serenity that filled the air—it’s a place where you can slow down, reflect, and just be in the moment. Unlike the more touristy spots in Bali, Brahmavihara Arama remains wonderfully tranquil, making it perfect for those seeking a deeper connection with themselves and their surroundings. If you’re visiting North Bali, don’t miss this beautiful monastery. Whether you come to meditate, admire the architecture, or simply enjoy the peaceful vibe, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression.

Great Buddhist temple/monastery. Not many people in February 2025, almost empty. Very quiet and beautiful. With a good panorama of the mountain & ocean. Cheap entry ticket.

Went back there after many years. At just past 8 there were no other tourists around. So very nice to enjoy this quiet place. Entry fee is rp. 35.000 and you can borrow sarong there. At the moment there are some renovations going on, but not causing lot of annoyance.

Didn’t expect this Buddhist temple to be this big. Not many people there. All the signs are in English so you can learn about this place some interesting things. Short visit from Lovina.

Buddhist temple about 12 min drive from Lovina beach. 35k entry fee I had to wear sarong as I was wearing shorts. Reasonably big complex. Few stairs to climb. There is Stupa at top of the site to the left as you enter. Sign says it was built based upon Borobadur in Jogja in Java. Looks old but says built 1999. Nice gardens. Few buildings under construction. Places to sit and contemplate. I parked car outside ticket office. Cost 5k when I was leaving. It was ok. I was there about 25 mins taking my time. If your Buddhist your probably more interested in site.
