Incredible beach - probably one of the best I have been to. The water is SO CLEAR and clean, literally nothing touches your foot (like seaweed or pebbles or even garbage, thankfully!). There are toilet facilities nearby, some restaurants a little bit further away, and a children's play area too. I'd recommend spending a full day here, we only got to spend a few hours and it was not enough. Sunset time is a MUST. The sand is so soft as well and there are picturesque spots to take photos.

One of the best beaches in Sri Lanka, with incredibly soft sand that's unmatched in the area. However, the picnic area could be improved, especially in terms of cleanliness. During peak times, parking can be challenging, so better parking management would also enhance the experience.

This is the best place for a beach vacation. I’ve been to many places in Sri Lanka, but I keep coming back to Bentota. It has a long beach, soft sand, nice waves, it’s pretty clean, and the water is shallow — great for swimming with kids. There’s even a toilet and shower, which is rare for beaches in Sri Lanka. Amazing spot!
