This museum has a free entrance but it was exceptionally beautiful. Good for history lovers and for those who want a peaceful experience in Taipei.

Free entry. Charming, small museum. Beautiful Japanese-era architecture, informative exhibits, and serene surroundings. A great stop for culture lovers—free entry and quick to explore. Don’t miss the nearby thermal valley!

This is a good experience. It’s free. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was a line about 15 minutes long. You’ll have to takeoff your shoes and put on slippers. If you go to the bathroom will use another set of slippers that are gender specific. But we got there. There was a performance on the second floor.

A beautiful glimpse into Taiwan’s hot spring history. Housed in a restored Japanese-era building, the Beitou Hot Spring Museum offers a quiet, cultural break from the usual tourist hustle. You’ll find displays on the origins of Beitou’s hot springs, old bathhouse architecture, and even traditional bathing etiquette. What makes the visit even more memorable is the chance to rent a Japanese kimono from Radium Kagaya Hotel, located just across the street. Strolling through the museum in traditional dress adds a fun and immersive layer to the experience—great for photos and getting into the spirit of the place. The museum is free to enter and doesn’t take too long to explore, making it a perfect stop before or after a soak in the local hot springs. If you’re in Beitou, it’s definitely worth a visit.

This place turned out to be unexpectedly interesting. My friends and I were deciding whether to come here or check out the Beitou Museum since it was raining and we only had the afternoon to explore. I'm so glad we picked this one. What we thought would just be a simple hot spring history actually turned out to be one of the most culturally important places in Taiwan's history. From the occupations to its decline and now preservation, I’d definitely recommend everyone to visit. And don’t forget to show some love to the sweet old ladies working there. ?
