Beautiful costumes and a lively performance awaits you . Starts 9:30am and ends 10:30 am. Theatre style concrete seats. Pulled out a star only because it’s a difficult plot which could have been explained a little better. Dedicated team with music and dance . Well worth a visit @300,000 IDR for a couple

The Barong and Keris Dance is a captivating traditional Balinese performance, rich in culture, color, and dramatic storytelling. A must-see experience for visitors to Bali, this vibrant spectacle brings to life the timeless battle between good and evil through elaborate choreography and striking costumes. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival, making it easy to immerse yourself in this enchanting art form. The performance unfolds like a theatrical short story, blending myth, dance, and dynamic stage drama. The dancers' exquisite costumes and expressive movements add to the allure, creating a mesmerizing visual feast. Accompanied by live musicians playing traditional Indonesian instruments, the show is a harmonious blend of intensity, humor, and cultural depth. While primarily a serious tale, moments of lighthearted comedy add an engaging and entertaining touch. Rooted in the epic Mahabharata, the dance portrays the eternal struggle of yin and yang, known in Bali as Rwa Bhineda. The Barong, a mythical lion-like creature symbolizing good, faces off against Rangda, the embodiment of darkness and chaos. Their battle, fueled by magic and spiritual power, is a mesmerizing display of movement and symbolism, ultimately restoring cosmic balance. The performance consists of four acts and lasts approximately an hour—an unforgettable journey into the heart of Balinese tradition.
